We will explore insolvency practitioners’ administrative powers and the way in which insolvency practitioners use, or should use, those powers to perform a quasi-judicial function, including:

  • Controlling and selling assets.
  • Trading a business.
  • Adjudicating and determining the value of creditors.
  • Paying creditors
  • Assessing and determining the income of a bankrupt.
  • Calling on contributories.
  • Powers to review administrative decisions.
  • Intriguing administrative reviews and judicial reviews.
