White Ribbon Australia

White Ribbon Australia (WRA) is a non-profit organisation that aims to prevent men’s violence against women using a primary prevention approach in schools, workplaces and communities across Australia.

Please note: WRA is a domestic violence primary prevention campaign. It does not operate a hotline or emergency support service. If you or someone you know is experiencing violence and need help or support, please visit:
Domestic Violence Hotlines.

WRA engages with a large and broad stakeholder community including ambassadors, advocates, fundraisers, governments, corporate partners, schools, community groups, reference groups, academics and others in the community. Worrells created this webpage (www.worrells.net.au/wra) for these stakeholders, as well as an e-mailing list to issue updates regarding important information.

We ask that stakeholders please understand that our priorities are to stabilise the operations of WRA, secure employee entitlements and maximise the return to WRA’s creditors, so we will not be able to respond to all individual correspondence received from stakeholders. We understand and appreciate the concerns of the stakeholder community and will endeavour to respond to as many of these are possible via this webpage and e-mailing list.

Advice to Stakeholders

We are working hard to gather and disseminate information to all stakeholders in the White Ribbon community. At this stage, the following information might be of assistance to you:

  • Due to our statutory obligation to maximise returns to creditors, we are obliged to consider various outcomes under which White Ribbon’s brand is preserved and its work continued with all community stakeholders.
  • Some stakeholders have been approached by the media and are uncertain whether they should respond. It is a matter for the individual stakeholder to choose whether to respond to media enquiries. You may also refer the media to our office.
  • If you are planning a White Ribbon Day event, we are assessing options regarding funds raised. The board of WRA has encouraged that White Ribbon Day events should continue alongside the international White Ribbon movement. We will provide more information about how funds raised for White Ribbon Day can be donated at a later stage.
  • If you are currently planning or undertaking a fundraising event, we are assessing options for donating funds raised. We will provide more information at a later stage.
  • If you are currently holding funds that have been raised on behalf of WRA, we are assessing options for donating funds raised and we will provide more information at a later stage.
  • If your organisation is undergoing a Workplace Accreditation Program, or re-accreditation, we are assessing options to continue the accreditation programs. Workplaces that have paid for, but not completed accreditation may have a claim as creditors of WRA and therefore will receive copies of all creditor correspondence from us.
