Chris is a Principal at Worrells, working across Sydney and the Central Coast, with more than 35 years’ experience in corporate insolvency, restructuring and turnaround.
Over the course of his career, Chris has advised businesses, directors, creditors and professional advisers through a broad range of financial and operational challenges, from early-stage financial distress to complex formal insolvency appointments. His experience includes running his own insolvency practice and many years as a Principal at Worrells, giving him a strong understanding of both the technical and commercial realities that sit behind financial difficulty.
Chris is known for his practical judgement, clear communication and measured approach to complex matters. Alongside his client work, he has played an important role in the leadership and development of the Worrells practice, mentoring people, building long-term professional relationships and contributing to the direction of the firm.
His particular expertise includes business restructuring and turnaround, pre-insolvency advice, voluntary administrations, deeds of company arrangement, liquidations, receiverships and other formal insolvency appointments. He has worked across a diverse range of industries, including retail, hospitality, professional services, manufacturing, transport and property development.
Chris works closely with accountants, lawyers, directors and business owners to understand the circumstances, assess the available options and determine a practical way forward.
Chris is a Registered Liquidator and Small Business Restructuring Practitioner, and a professional member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ). He also serves as a Board Member of the Association of Independent Insolvency Practitioners (AIIP), recognising his standing and ongoing contribution to the profession.
Outside work, Chris enjoys travelling with his wife and three children and has a particular appreciation for vintage cars and unique watches.
