Conscious about our influence

Our people know how to turn a business around and straighten out a deteriorating personal financial situation, who understand insolvency at the deepest level and are always keen to find the right answers. But importantly, our people have the care factor for those affected by the insolvency situation. This encompasses creditors and their position; if we detect wrongdoing by the failed entity, we’ll make sure we do our best to help right those wrongs that both the insolvency framework and commerciality allows.

Our brand is built on being conscious about our influence. We appreciate our role in how we can influence better outcomes in our open comms and being experts with empathy.

Culture values

Culture is a shared way of doing things

Working in insolvency is an opportunity to develop a range of skills from the diverse disciplines of accounting analysis and interpretation, business management, business and asset divestment, commercial law, risk management, litigation, financial reporting, and personal communication. To succeed in this area of accounting, a high level of motivation, a positive attitude, resourcefulness, and initiative is required.

Mission

The Why

To transition the way in which insolvency is conducted, impartially delivering our process that supports businesses and individuals who are struggling financially. We give them positive options, removing much of the shame, emotional and physical burden that comes with a struggling business or personal financial situation while simultaneously balancing the needs of the creditors who are also impacted, providing them with definite outcomes.

The Who

While insolvency is exciting and rewarding, some people can find it too demanding and confronting. Insolvency is more suited to people who are confident and assertive, while being empathetic to the position of all people affected by an insolvency appointment. Insolvency requires technical and analytical skills and a great deal of being the “detective”. Insolvency accountants must be able to perform under time constraints and make decisions based on available information. All staff form part of an insolvency team and graduates and business analysts have an executive analyst to supervise their work. That executive analyst is usually only responsible for a maximum of two business analysts, ensuring the proper amount of attention can be given to training and assisting the business analysts. Each team has at most three business analysts and a manager to ensure that full attention can be given to all staff at all levels.

The Fit

Working in insolvency is an opportunity to develop a range of skills from the diverse disciplines of accounting analysis and interpretation, business management, business and asset divestment, commercial law, risk management, litigation, financial reporting, and personal communication. Our Core

Open comms, always

We’re not about titles, we’re about team. It’s this principle that encourages us to communicate in an open and thoughtful way, no matter your role. We may be distributed across geographical regions but we don’t see borders, we’re all on the same side.

Knowledge seekers, always

To be the best team at turning around businesses or helping them navigate insolvency, our work environment will always reflect a place where employees are encouraged to ask as many questions as needed and their co-workers are on tap to provide those answers.

Do the right thing, always

Dealing with people and creditors who are under financial pressure and in a weakened state puts the responsibility on us to always act with integrity and fairness. It’s this integrity that builds our reputation as a brand that can be trusted but also provides a framework on how we should act towards one another in a team setting.
