Nathan Deppeler and Paul Burness were appointed Voluntary Administrators of Macedon Grammar School Co-Op Ltd on 27th November 2014 pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Directors. Macedon Grammar School has been in operation since 1979.

Since being appointed Worrells have been working with the State and Federal Governments and third parties to attempt to keep the school in operation. Late yesterday afternoon, Worrells received funding from a third party to allow the school’s operation to continue to the end of term. As a result of this funding, Worrells anticipate that all school social events, including the awards night will proceed.

Worrells will now work closely with the regulator in an attempt to resolve any outstanding issues which may affect the future operations of the school.

At this early stage of the administration, Worrells is unable to provide any comment on the reason for the school’s state of insolvency. Investigations into those matters are however now underway and a report to creditor will be issued this month. The primary focus on the Administrators has been, and continues to be, on keeping the doors open to students and teachers respectively and to minimise the impact the Administration has on the broader Macedon community.

Worrells appreciates the impact their appointment has had on students, teachers, parents and the community and the Administrators will continue to communicate with all affected parties in an attempt to bring about the best possible outcome.

Worrells have set up a dedicated telephone number – (03) 9613 5550 and email address mgs@worrells.net.au for anyone affected.
