SYDNEY: Members at a general meeting of White Ribbon Australia Limited held on 2 October 2019 have appointed Mr Aaron Lucan and Mr Graeme Beattie, partners of Worrells Solvency and Forensic Accountants NSW & ACT, as Liquidators of the company.
Mr Lucan said: “We have just started investigating the causes of financial distress that led to yesterday’s wind-up decision.
“At this early stage, we can’t discern all of the factors leading to insolvency. Any third party commentary on the reasons for the wind-up is likely speculation.
“We understand that many people are affected by White Ribbon’s predicament and will provide timely updates to all concerned stakeholders as the investigation proceeds, including people participating in the organisation’s accreditation programs.
“For now, our first priority is to secure the entitlements of White Ribbon’s 28 employees, while stabilising the organisation to preserve as much value as possible”, said Mr Lucan.
PLEASE NOTE: White Ribbon is a domestic violence primary prevention campaign. It does not operate a hotline or emergency support service. If you or someone you know is experiencing violence and need help or support, please visit: https://www.whiteribbon.org.au/helplines/
